Innergy is a person’s vital energy. It is associated with mental clarity, emotional balance, physical health, and sense of connection. By cultivating and developing our Innergy, we can achieve a broad and solid state of health and well-being.

1. What is Innergy?
Innergy is the concept that represents our vital energy resulting from physical, mental, and emotional well-being. It means vitality, physical energy, mental clarity, emotional balance, and connection. A person’s Innergy expresses in essence his or her overall state of health and well-being.
The vision of health on which the concept of Innergy is based is the holistic one, widely accepted in the scientific world and sanctioned by the definition of the World Health Organization (WHO): health is a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not simply the absence of disease or infirmity. Mind, body, and soul are parts of an interdependent system.
On the one hand, it is a new idea, expressed by the union of two terms: inner and energy. It refers to the quality of life, expressed as the level of health and well-being that a person can achieve in the various spheres of their life: body, mind, emotions, relationships, and fulfillment. On the other hand, it is an ancient idea that has long been present in different forms in different holistic, spiritual, or even medical disciplines and in different cultures in the world, both past and present.
Just think of the tradition of Yoga that combines physical exercises, breathing, and meditation to harmonize body, mind, and soul. Or Qi Gong, part of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the basis of Tai Chi and the main oriental martial arts, which is a set of techniques and exercises to cultivate and balance internal vital energy (Qi). Or the various disciplines and spiritual practices that aim, through the awakening of internal energy, to achieve union with the whole, with the Divine, or with Mother Nature, depending on the spiritual systems of reference.
New or old, the concept of Innergy aims to enhance all the main areas of human experience that contribute to creating and maintaining ENERGY AND VITALITY.
2. Areas of life from which Innergy derives
Innergy depends on various areas of human experience, each of which can be improved through specific practices and improvements or changes in habits and behaviors:
BREATHING. Correct breathing is essential for health and well-being. It improves the body’s oxygenation, reduces stress, and increases concentration. Conscious breathing techniques promote relaxation and mental well-being and improve organ and body functions.
NUTRITION. Proper nutrition benefits the mind and body, supports vital functions, and promotes natural healing. Food choices positively influence health and vitality.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY. Regular physical activity, whether sports, fitness, or simple movement, improves health, keeps the body strong, flexible, and balanced and reduces the risk of chronic diseases.
SLEEP AND REST. Quality rest and sleep are essential for physical and mental recovery. They help prevent chronic diseases and maintain overall health balance.
MIND AND EMOTIONS. Mental and emotional well-being is crucial to dealing with daily stress and realizing personal potential. It supports overall health and strengthens social connections.
ACTUALIZATION AND DIRECTION (sense of purpose ). Having a purpose to achieve or an overall direction gives meaning to life, integrating reflection and personal values. It improves one’s understanding of one’s place in the world, generates motivation, and promotes well-being.
SOCIAL RELATIONSHIPS. Social relationships provide support and connection, which are essential for well-being. Engagement in social relationships improves self-understanding, strengthens one’s personal identity, and gives one a sense of belonging to a “community.”
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT. A clean and healthy physical environment supports overall health. Aspects such as noise, safety, cleanliness, presence of nature, etc., contribute to a better quality of life and greater mental and emotional balance.
There are no precise universal schemes for every area that all individuals must follow. However, certain guidelines, scientific knowledge, and common practices are valid for everyone (and are part of the health skills that everyone should cultivate).

Within this perimeter of guidelines, each person can find their way and a personal balance between the various areas connected to their uniqueness and their life path.
3. The four principles of Innergy
Developing Innergy by actively taking care of one’s health and well-being means acting consciously on aspects of one’s lifestyle with a view to improving the quality of life, preventing disease, and creating conditions for healthy longevity.
The concept of Innergy is linked to 4 principles.
1. Responsibility
Each person is responsible for their health and well-being. This means actively taking care of themselves by consciously adopting knowledge, skills, habits, and behaviors that strengthen health and well-being (what is defined as Health Empowerment, click here to learn more). And developing listening to their body and state by promptly intervening at the signs of discomfort (independently or by referring to the appropriate health professionals).
2. Uniqueness
Health and well-being are not the same for everyone; they depend on our uniqueness: vision, values, priorities, history and experiences, characteristics, and strengths.
3. Potential
The mind and body potentially have the ability to self-repair if consciously supported.
4. Dynamism
An ideal state of health is not “forever”, that is, it is not static. It is a journey that requires re-evaluations and re-balances in relation to the passing of time and to internal and external change.
4. How do you experience Innergy?
Innergy is experienced daily through physical energy, mental clarity, emotional balance, and a sense of connection. These components are interconnected and influence each other, contributing to a person’s overall well-being.
- Physical Energy represents the vitality and resistance of the body. An optimal level of physical energy allows you to face daily challenges with vigor and health, prevent diseases, and improve the quality of life.
- Mental Clarity is the ability to keep one’s mind clear and focused. A clear mind facilitates stress management, problem-solving, and the achievement of personal and professional goals.
- Emotional Balance indicates the ability to manage emotions in a healthy and constructive way. Emotional balance helps maintain healthy relationships and react positively to life’s difficulties, promoting greater resilience.
- Sense of connection. Refers to a sense of belonging and connection to a purpose, whether with others, the world around us, or something larger than ourselves. This sense of connection fuels social and spiritual well-being, contributing to a more fulfilling and meaningful life.
5. What science says
Science, particularly medicine and the life sciences in general (or Life Sciences), has recognized that all the components (the “areas” described above) contribute to increasing our health and well-being in general, and therefore to developing Innergy ; they are fundamental to creating a satisfactory state of health and well-being, but also contribute to greater longevity and increase the duration of healthy longevity .
Numerous scientific and academic studies confirm the importance of these areas and also their relevance to healthy longevity.
Just as an example:
- Mindful breathing has been linked to reduced stress and increased concentration; read here about it.
- A balanced and correct diet is crucial to prevent chronic diseases; read here about it.
- Regular physical activity is associated with longer life expectancy; read here about it.
- Quality sleep is essential for recovery and mental health; read here about it.
- Managing emotions and the mind through practices such as mindfulness improves psychological well-being and promotes greater longevity; read here about it.
- A sense of purpose is associated with better physical and mental health and reduces the risk of chronic disease while increasing longevity; read here about it.
- Social relationships improve mental and physical health; read here about it.
- The physical environment in which we live has a significant impact on well-being, such as the presence of green spaces; read here about it.
The validity of the principles of Innergy , which I spoke about before, is underlined by the new paradigm of healthcare that is spreading worldwide based on the principles of the 4Ps ( participation, personalization, prevention, prediction ). This model, centered on the patient, highlights the principles of responsibility and active participation of the person (or patient) and his uniqueness.

6. The Role of Health Coaching
A health coach plays a crucial role in helping people develop and maintain Innergy, which means improving their health, well-being, and quality of life. They are professionals who work with people to identify areas of their lives that need improvement and offer support and guidance to make positive and lasting health changes.
It accompanies the person towards a better state of health through the adoption of healthier and more sustainable lifestyles in relation to their uniqueness as an individual. In essence, it is a facilitator of change by helping, through personalized tools and strategies, to identify and overcome the obstacles that prevent living a healthier, more fulfilling, and resilient life.
